[attr="class","canoh2"]Into darkness, unafraid.
So you want to play a canon character? Perfect! We always welcome the claim of canons to enhance our story in a unique way, and for others to let their personal headcanons go wild. Below you'll find a full list of every canon character wanted - and claimed - on the site. As you'll see, each character has a little blurb to let you know just a smidge to help you decide. [break][break] In regard to pivotal characters: Some characters, like Leliana, will/may play majors roles in the forum wide plot. As such, we will need the players of these characters to be willing to work closely with the admins when necessary. We will let you know if the character you've chosen is a pivotal character. Just a heads up! [break][break] In regard to the potential Wardens/Inquisitors: because it is possible for all these people to exist whether they become the Warden/Inquisitor or not, we welcome people to claim these origins for their character. I.E., since the Dalish Inquisitor is already taken, you can still choose to play the Qunari Vashoth. [break][break] In regard to character ages: Yes, I know. 13 years is a long time. Some characters are expected to be in their 50s, even. But don't worry, we've got you covered - you are allowed to manipulate your character's age to an extent as long as it makes sense. If the character has a canonical birth date, depending on what age the current timeline will make them, please speak to an admin (Adelle or Luck) about changing things around. Again, general rule - so long as it makes sense, we can change it.

The Protagonists
| | [attr="class","canoimg"] | The Warden | The Warden, commonly known as both Hero of Ferelden and the Warden-Commander of Ferelden, was the main catalyst in ending the fith blight, especially so quickly, and the saviour of Amaranthine. They potentially slay the archdemon themselves, and/or have a child with Morrigan that allows them to survive the encounter. |
[attr="class","canoimg"] | Hawke | Hawke is a human who lived in Lothering during the Fifth Blight in Ferelden, escaping the darkspawn attack by fleeing north to the Free Marches. Hawke's father Malcolm was an apostate mage who died three years before the beginning of the game, while their mother Leandra (of the Amell family) is a noble from Kirkwall. Hawke has two younger twin siblings - the mage Bethany and the warrior Carver. Once Hawke arrived in Kirkwall, they changed the events dramatically. They potentially put down the Qunari uprising by killing the Arishok in single combat, and they also potentially help end the beginning of the Mage-Templar rebellion in Kirkwall. Depending on what side they chose, Hawke may become the Viscount of Kirkwall. Either way, Hawke disappears to protect their friends from the numerous enemies they acquired. During the Inquisition, they reappear to help the Inquisitor defeat the nightmare demon and save the Grey Wardens, and then leaves again to inform the Wardens in Weisshaupt. It is assumed they got involved in the political mess in the Anderfells/the Warden rebellion, but eventually does return to Kirkwall. |
[attr="class","canoimg"] | The Inquisitor | Known to many Thedosians as the Herald of Andraste, the Inquisitor was originally a suspect in the murder of the Divine and the only survivor from the initial explosion creating The Breach. The encounter left a mark on the Inquisitor's left hand that allowed them to close fade rifts caused by The Breach. Because of this, they become the most important member of those trying to solve this crisis. When the real antagonist, Corypheus, is revealed and the War of the Elder One begins, the Inquisitor officially becomes leader and begins the long road in putting Corypheus down. Over this time, the Inquisition builds a substantial force that many feel could threaten the stability of the world, leading to the events of the Exalted Council. When it is revealed their long-time companion Solas is actually the ancient elven god Fen'Harel who was the one who gave Corypheus the power to create the breach and thus starting the war, and that he eventually intends to rip down the Veil and destroy the world of Thedas as it is currently known, the Inquisitor vows to redeem Solas by convincing him not to go through with his plan. With a heavy heart and now knowing Solas has spies inside his organization, the Inquisitor disbands the Inquisition. |
