AATAMI “CROW” TARATHIEL
APP ■ 28 ■ MALE ■ PANSEXUAL ■ MERCENARY
Ma emma harel. You should fear me.
THE BASICS, Here is Crow, or Aatami to his friends, a red-headed elf necromancer who hasn’t met you, but he already doesn’t like you. He is a very grumpy elf. Born to a small, isolationist and violent clan, he was abandoned by them when his magic appeared, and taken by slavers to the Tevinter Imperium. For the next several years, Aatami was a blood slave to the Tevinters, until his master was killed during the taking of Griffon Keep by the Inquisition, and Aatami joined the Inquisition. He acted as a courier until the dissolution of the Inquisition, after which he left and travelled, learning magic. He joined a mercenary group called the Lucky Blighters, and found his home among his fellow outcasts. Finding likeminded people has not improved Aatami’s generally grumpy disposition.
FRIENDSHIPS
Aatami has a few friends. If you appreciate his morbid and pessimistic sense of humor, you’ll get along. If you enjoy having some fun and creating a little chaos, pranking and the like, he’ll probably like you. Friends are not exempted from Aatami’s general grumpiness and poor outlook on life. He rather expects his friends to disappoint him. On the plus side, Aatami doesn’t have reservations about making friends with other races, classes, or walks of life. He dislikes all of them equally at first.
Wanted friends: Other necromancers, Lucky Blighters, other mercenaries, ex-employees

ENEMIES
Aatami is a loud and proud elf apostate, which is generally enough to be disliked by many of the people he meets. He is a necromancer, disturbing the sanctity of the grave, and generally doesn’t approve of the Chantry or most governments. Aatami just doesn’t like nearly everyone. Enemies are a dime a dozen.
Wanted enemies: Anti-elf sentiments, Templars, Circle mages, really religious characters

LOVERS
Aatami is not one for romance. He might find someone he wants to protect and claim as his own, but he has been mostly concerned with surviving and figuring out his own identity and emotional stability (hah, what is that) to have room to feel romance. Aatami has had a few flings, and doesn’t care about his partner as long as they are open and don’t ask too many questions. On the OOC side of things, I’m open to plotting relationship stuff, but I won’t agree to anything pre-planned until the characters play out at least a little bit.
OTHERS
Opinions about the factions in Thedas:
The Chantry: Considers stories of Circle mages to be only slightly better than Tevinter slavery, especially with stories of the Tranquil. He got nightmares for weeks the first time he met one. He also has no intention of being converted. Overall negative.
Tevinter: Aatam is understandably very wary of anyone from the Imperium. He felt guilty for missing the Imperium for a long time
Countries: Aatami likes Nevarra the most because he admires their necromancy. He also likes Fereldans, the Free Marches, and Antiva. He tolerates most other nationalities, though usually he doesn’t care enough about local politics to know the difference or concern himself with what is happening in this or that nation.
The Inquisitor: Aatami is resentful towards the Inquisitor, whom he met once or twice while delivering messages, because the Inquisitor gave up on the Inquisition (seemingly) without caring how many people he left behind and disappointed in doing so.
Grey Wardens: The Blighters run into the Wardens on occasion, and Aatami has always found them to be kind of adorable. The more grim and gloom and doom the Warden, the more adorable Aatami thinks them. He is also about fairly sure his father was a Warden, from the vague stories he remembers his mother telling him about the ‘doomed man’ who she spent a night with.
